Since then he's reached out to me via text and facebook, but it's just been casual conversation, no asking me out for a second date. Do you think he wants to ask me out but it just being shy about it? I don't see why he would reach out to me otherwise...

If he's already had a date with you why be shy about date two? I think he's FRIENDZONED you.

Diff people like different modes of communication. I never thought I'd say this, but I LOVE texting. Sucked on my old phone, but it's great on the one I have now.

I was thinking about doing that. I'm a pretty humorous person, so when I know someone else is nervous I will put myself out there and risk looking foolish if I know it will put them more at ease. Maybe I should just go for it.
