Since we're talkin politics & money this morning here's my opinion on what we need to do. 1. Run the debt through the roof as fast as possible. 2. Declare bankruptcy 3. Disband the Federal Reserve 4. Get rid of SS & Medicare 5. Issue new Fiat Currency, the production of which is limited by a constitutional amendment using a formula based on national productivity, population & other relevant factors (which I'm sure some good, enterprising economist can come up with) 6. Create an additional constitutional amendment that will limit the ability of congress to create debt.

Entitlement spending is biggest issue.

They need to get serious about cutting entitlements. Older people can't bitch. They believed in the lying, overspending politicians. And then voted for them. We need to take care of special needs people, though.

Especially the entitlements & giveaways to corporations. And I'd like to see a lot of the tax breaks, especially the homeowners deduction go away too.

You need to remember, any tax on a corporation goes directly into their prices. When you understand this, you realize that corporations do not pay taxes- their customers do.

Yes, I'd be in favor of eliminating corporate income taxes at the federal level so long as Capital Gains are taxed at the same rates as regular income.

That wouldn't be good either. That creates a disincentive to invest in business.

No it doesn't, it creates an incentive for business people to keep their money in the business where it will create jobs. Once they take it out, they pay a heavy tax, which is as it should be. Also, we should have a far more progressive income tax structure than we do.

Not to me, but as things currently stand entitlements & military spending are the biggest issues.
