So, what about censorship..? How do you feel about it specifiy as applied to recent CL issues as well as to society in general? The CL ordeal..that's a tough one for me...I think they should have put the effort into monitoring the fuck out of everything posted in the Erotic Services section and kept it. Easier said than done. (eh /Jim?) I have mixed feeling about it's removal - both the reasons for and the effects of... Censorship in society in general - I have much more concrete opinions there. (as some of you old-timers can attest ;-) I think there are some things that don't need to be viewed/heard/experienced/etc by everyone and sometimes those things can confuse and frighten or, at the very least, make people uncomfortable. (don't get me wrong, discomfort happens and can even be gooood but when it is thrust upon one, well, one has the right to feel...thrust upon!) We censor ourselves all the time in all kinds of ways (verbally, physiy, sexually, etc) in public for the betterment of society (for the most part) and I think that's alright. What do any of you think?

I think a bunch of Attorney's General realize it's an election year, and they are making a political scape goat out of CL. I think forcing CL to close its erotic services actually makes it LESS easy for law enforcement to find and locate the trafficking and child prostitution rings, because now they don't have a one-stop shop. CL always handed over anything LE wanted from them with respect to ISP information, etc. The AGs have just cut law enforcement's nose off to spite its face.

that is true and the tea-bag party is proof of the fervor. And I agree that a lots of info is now inaccesible and it will all just move elsewhere..

I stopped reading this person's posts awhile back as he/she is incendiary and kind of trollish. And, from your post, I gather he/she is also right wing. Suprise suprise! ;-)

He's not a troll he's just a little over-sensitive about the topics of politics and religion and takes it all too personally. But he does have some good things to say frequently.
