I confess arrrrgggggg.... my job sucks! my boss is a hyprocite and I can't stand her right now. I have to have two dr.'s appointments, one for the obgyn, cause i found a lump down there, not in anything, but on top..if you know what i mean. ....and one for a endorconogist for my type 2 diabetes. right now things suck to me! i tell my boss, i need that day off for the obgyn, and she's like bargainig with me. wtf!!!! i'm like i have to go..somethings not right with my body! they don't give a shit about me..and its visa versa! ok, i'm out of my mind..sorry..all, ty for the vent!

Dude, she's not allowed to do that. Under ADA, you have a right to go to a doctor's appointment. If she continues to hassle you about it, report her to HR or her boss. Cuz that's just wrong.

an initial appointment is generally not going to require sedation or recovery. In fact, it can likely be taken care of on a lunch hour.

it's not that easy for everyone. and I'm not assuming it's that hard for TG either. There are a lot of factors that affect whether one can work that day, and I'm wondering how much information the employer has a right to outside of "I have an appointment with a specialist."

Under HIIPA rules, the employer doesn't have a right to know any more than, "I have a doctor's appointment and I'll be out for these times."
