dreams poll What's the strangest dream you've had that you remember? It just dawned on me (no pun intended) that I had a strange dream last night. I was running through a field in my socks when I became aware of snakes that were all over like land mines. I don't think they were threatening me, but they definitely freaked me out, so I decided to look into the meaning. "To see a snake or be bitten by one in your dream, signifies hidden fears and worries that are threatening you. Your dream may be alerting you to something in your waking life that you are not aware of or that has not yet surfaced. Alternatively, the snake may be seen as phallic and thus symbolize temptation, dangerous and forbidden sexuality. If you are afraid of the snake, then it signifies your fears of sex, intimacy or commitment. The snake may also refer to a person around you who is ous, ruthless, and can't be trusted. As a positive symbol, snakes represent healing, transformation, knowledge and wisdom. It is indicative of self-renewal and positive changes." This interpretation actually hits home a bit for me, but it's the first time I've ever dreamed of snakes (that I remember).

I guess it's the disturbing ones that you really remember. The night after I decided to move forward with my own business, I had a dream that I gave birth to a baby. I dreamt I was sitting in the bath, and I reached down and pulled this baby out. No big deal. It was a very tactile dream: I remember the feel of the slippery fluids, the feel of it's heavy head in my palm and it's neck between my fingers as I pulled it out, supporting the head and body calmly and expertly. I washed it in the tub, got it breathing, then rinsed off and walked out of the bathroom, dripping wet, baby in my arms. It was so weird. No pain, no surprise, just "Oh. Now I have a baby." The symbolism was pretty obvious.

There is this one dream that I will have every so often. I am getting on the school bus to go to school and I am running late. It isn't until I'm sitting on the bus that I realize I forgot my shoes. When I get off the bus I go to my class (its always my kindergarten class), the mean assistant teacher Mrs. Pron yells at me because I'm standing there in my socks.
