Tis the season - Scary Movie Poll Do you like scary movies? Think they are stupid or too scary? If you like them, which is your favorite? If it's not one in the same, which do you think is the scariest?

not a fan because i do get scared. unless it has some other reason to watch it (good artistic values) i wouldn't watch a scary movie. they are either too scary or too stupid, and sometimes scary and stupid, which makes me feel stupid for being scared!

Hellbent Gay men in West Hollywood running from a devil costumed murderer. My favorite scary movie. I used to be into them more, but somewhere along the line I lost interest. Actually, I think it was when hostel came out and I was just not interested in cutting off things for the sake of shock value. Never really scared of them, although House of a 1000 corpses did make me wonder what the hell I sat through. Scary movies are most fun when you've got a bunch of friends and are drinking, especially if one is a hot woman who's afraid of scary movies.

House of 1000 corpses was so bizarre, that's Rob Zombie for you. Did you see the sequel, Devil's Rejects? That movie was F'd up, but for some reason I laughed a lot during that one. I prolly shouldn't be admitting that, but oh well.... :)

I saw the first bit of it with the queer group i was in college with, but i don't think we finished it. I don't really remember why.

It was really bizarre but for some reason I really liked it! :O)

It was quite the strange piece of work, but to be expected from Mr. Zombie. A good choice.

Sorry fb i don't like scary movies anymore and i dont have many queer friends to hang with to watch them with either. (but that does sound kinda fun) Heck, I dont even like the Jaws movies!

No worries, most people don't like scary movies. Oddly, I do and my lil bro does as well. Wonder if it's hereditary. I was just trying to jump start some convo tonight!! Jaws to me is a horror movie!! Was bit on the foot by a shark down in FL back in 87. Thank god I didn't know what happened at the time! :O)

Thank goodness I am not the only one that has a problem with one of the scary films. I will take Michael over my Chucky any day. Chucky is smaller, and there are more places he can hide.

Love them. I'm happily watching a new one that I never heard of before tonight (not sleeping much these days): Dead Heist, made with a bunch of rappers about some drug dealers planning to rob a bank, and getting interrupted by zombies. So far, it's cute (but I haven't seen any zombies yet, so it could get trashy pretty quick). My favorites? New ones: 28 Days Later, Day of the Dead (the one at the mall - I get the Day/Dawn of the Dead movies mixed up), Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the one made in 2005). Oh! Cloverfield was good, too. Older ones: Dawn of the Dead, Alien, Aliens, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween (the original), An American Werewolf in London. Oh, and I just watched Plan 9 From Outer Space again. Love that one. Any and all Godzilla movies. The Birds. There's more, I just can't think of them off the top of my head, and my post is getting long! Scariest? Alien totally terrified me when I was a kid, and 28 Days Later had me literally on the edge of my jaded, always-looking-for-the-zipper-of-the-monster seat.

Really?? The Texas Chain Saw Masacure remake was great, IMHO! Then they made the prequel. Hmmm I will have to look out for Dead Heist! Love your list of movies, they are good ones! ;!

I wouldn't necessarily look up Dead Heist unless you're stuck on a couch and can't sleep - the zombies have appeared, and while it's still funny/hokey, it's kinda more on the hokey side. Maybe it'll redeem itself at the end... I can't believe I forgot about Jaws - to this day (and I'm in my mid-forties) I can't go in the ocean over my knees! Still, that movie kicks butt. I just watched the remake of Halloween tonight - the newest one, I guess, but I don't think that anyone can take the place of Jamie Lee Curtis, ever. *I'll* have to look up The Strangers (isn't that the movie you mentioned?) - creepy is good! :)
