It's amazing to me how much Seattle looks like San Francisco. (From your pictures, I mean. I've never been there in person!)

in the Seattle area as a whole? Definitely the boat trip from Anacortes to go whale watching (pics to come later this week). But in Seattle itself? Probably the underground tour which maybe sums up how I felt about Seattle itself! Nice enough place,interesting history,but not somewhere I'd put in my top x US cities

to balance my opinion above See looks to have a terrific nightlife - bars,restaurants,cafes. And it's a terrific place to use as a base for visiting the San Juan Islands and Washington state

Did you check out the Koolhaas designed public library when you were there? Brilliant work.
