Wild Pacific Octopus! We stumbled across this fellow in one of the intertidal pools on a hike yesterday. It was absolutely amazing. The octopus was interacting with us and imitating the colours of our clothing. They are incredible creatures.

That is so totally cool.

Wow! How big was it?

The head part was about as big as a football and it could stretch out to the circumference of a hula hoop.

so Kewl.... the creatures of blue salty.... we will never conquer her or tame her, it is the last frontier. Oddly, somehow, I am moved to tears... probably hormonal... really, it does move me in ways I can't explain or define.

I completely understand, it was an incredible, powerful experience. Here was a creature that was obviously curious, intelligent, enthusiastic, excited. It was a once-in-a-lifetime lesson. We feel very privileged.

Fascinating photos, fd... have you considered participating in a local art show? I know, I know... you already have a ton of irons in the fire but I was just wondering. ;-)

There are so many photographers out here. I am at the stage where I'd love to upgrade my equipment, but I can't afford to for a while yet. I'm just starting to get serious about photography, and there's a lot to learn. I think that once I've upgraded my skill set I can think about getting involved in the art shows and selling stuff to tourists. Yet another sideline, that's the way it goes out here! You piece together a living from three or five or ten different tiny incomes.
